Hebrew Ulpan Course Details

What is THE SAZF/ISRAEL CENTER ULPAN?

Ulpan is a 6 month online Hebrew speaking course designed to get you speaking Hebrew as fast as light: ULPAN OR

The program that we use is called ULPAN OR meaning learning to speak at the speed of light.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

If you are planning on making Aliyah, if you would like to brush up on your Hebrew speaking skills or if you would like to take your first steps to learn Hebrew, then this course is for you.

WHICH LEVELS ARE OFFERED?

We have 6 levels available now. Classes to be opened in Semester 1 2026 will depend on registration.

Beginners: started from the alphabet, now Novice Mid

False beginners: Could read and write before starting the course. Now can hold a basic conversation in the present tense. Novice High

Novice High: Can hold a basic conversation in the present tense and have started learning the past tense. Substantial increase in vocabulary.

Intermediate Low: This group can converse with relative ease in the present and past tense and have started learning the future tense. A vast vocabulary

Intermediate High: This group can converse in the present , past and future tenses with relative ease.

Advanced: This group can converse with ease in all the tenses but not yet fluent. Increased lexicon and more complicated language structures.

WHEN ARE CLASSES HELD?

The classes are held online via  zoom.

Classes for the Beginners and Intermediate groups are held twice a week either on a Monday and Wednesday or on a Tuesday and Thursday evening .

The advanced classes meet once a week on a Tuesday evening.

Classes are held from 7-8:30 pm.

The FIRST SEMESTER begins on Monday 26 January 2026  and the semester ends in the first week of July.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE LESSONS?

All our teachers are experienced and well trained. They will guide you on your journey to learn to SPEAK Hebrew.

You will be exposed to many interactive materials, audio clips, videos and games to help you achieve your goal.

Homework will be given from time to time to monitor your progress.

All lessons will be recorded so that if you are unable to attend, you will be able to catch up on the recording.

You will be invited to join a whatsapp group of your class for the purpose of communicating with your teacher  and each other and for the sharing of relevant content.

If you are not able to attend a lesson, the recording will be posted to the group the day after.

WHAT IS THE COST OF THE ULPAN COURSE?

FOR THE BEGINNERS AND INTERMEDIATE CLASSES: TWICE A WEEK

This price is for the full 6 month course (approximately 35 lessons) which includes access to the whatsapp groups and thus access to the recordings of all the lessons.

FOR THE ADVANCED CLASSES: ONCE A WEEK ON A TUESDAY

This price is for the full 6 month course (approximately 22 lessons) which includes access to the whatsapp groups and thus access to the recordings of all the lessons.
