Outreach

South African Friends of Israel (SAFI)

http://www.safisa.co.za/

The myth that only Jews have a connection to Israel is no more emphatically disproven than through SAFI.
The flagship initiative of the SAZF engages with other faith, cultural, and ethnic groups within South Africa to strengthen the support base for Israel and mitigate delegitimising campaigns that seek to misinform South Africans about Eretz Yisrael.

Partnership2Gether

P2G aims to connect Jews wherever they may be. The initiative unites 550 Jewish communities in the Diaspora with 45 Israeli Partnership areas through a series of programmes involving culture and education, as well as one-on-one encounters. South Africa is a proud member of P2G, having been partnered with the Jewish community in the town of Beit Shemesh and the surrounding rural area of Mateh Yehuda.

Partnership2Gether’s projects include:

  • School Twinning
  • Co-existence programmes in the field of mediation and discussion between different sectors of the population
  • Young adult programmes, including visits to Israel
  • Diller Teen Fellows
  • Joint Rabbi’s Forum
  • Youth Movement Seminar
  • CyCalive
  • Project Ten in Durban
