Final Hours to Safeguard South Africa’s Largest Medical Scheme from Political Infiltration
The South African Zionist Federation (SAZF) issues an urgent call to all members of the Discovery Health Medical Scheme (DHMS) to register to vote by 9:00 AM on Wednesday, 25 June 2025, ahead of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, 26 June 2025. This message does not apply to those have already registered or who have already submitted their proxy votes.
Why This Vote Matters
A coordinated campaign is actively lobbying for the election of Dr Gonda Perez to the DHMS Board. Dr Perez has been publicly endorsed by the South African Healthcare Workers for Palestine and promoted as a political activist for that group.
This constitutes an attempt to politicise DHMS – an institution that should remain solely focused on delivering quality healthcare to its members.
